"I knew what beautiful was."

Some of the most amazing things in life can't be explained, but we know them when we see them and when we feel them. For Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, it was music, and more specifically, jazz. What I loved about his interview with Rick Beato was how deeply he talked about music as his north star. Not because it's his work, or even because he's good at it, but because as a young, troublemaking kid, his first exposure to jazz instantly gave him a connection to something greater. If you're a parent, you could probably never fully explain the expanse of your love for your kids.

If you're an athlete, you probably can't really communicate what it feels like when practice meets precision in motion.

If you're a chef, you probably can't say exactly what the secret ingredient is that makes a dish amazing.

But we all know what beautiful is.

You don't have to be a Red Hot Chili Peppers fan to appreciate Flea's insight. Whatever your passion, I think you'll feel closer to it after hearing his interview.
